Police have 'person of interest' in ASU shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State University police say they have a "person of interest" in connection with the shooting death of a student in his campus apartment.

Twenty-four-year-old Michael Deon Gilmore of Helena-West Helena died Saturday after being shot in the head about 1 a.m. Friday.

University Police Department Chief Jim Chapman says the person of interest is not an ASU student. He did not release the person's name.

The shooting death is believed to be the first ever on the university's Jonesboro campus.
