Rams GM ready for scrutiny of making top pick

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis Rams general manager Billy Devaney insists he enjoys the scrutiny that goes with the responsibility of owning the top pick in the NFL draft.

Sports Illustrated put Devaney first on a list of "NFL people under pressure" this week. Devaney says he's excited because no matter what the 1-15 Rams decide, they're going to get a great player.

Devaney said the Rams have put in the work to feel confident about delivering positive results in the first prime-time draft, which takes place over three days beginning with Thursday night's first round. He notes that perhaps he should feel pressure but he doesn't because he knows the Rams will be an improved franchise by the end of the weekend.
