SPRINGFIELD, MO (AP) - The Greene County Sheriff's office is investigating a rash of residential burglaries in rural areas.
The sheriff's department says at least 30 burglaries have been reported across the county in the past two weeks. Generally, the thieves break into unoccupied homes during the day and take flat screen TVs and weapons.
Sheriff Jim Arnott says nine people who have been arrested are suspects in at least 11 burglaries, one arson, and two vehicle thefts. He says it's possible the suspects also committed similar crimes in Webster, Dallas and Christian counties. Charges are pending.
