Students celebrate Earth Day at ASU

Jonesboro, AR (KAIT)- Arkansas State University and the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce is encouraging Region 8 residents to "Go Green".  A variety of schools and organizations throughout our area set up booth's on the ASU campus Thursday, April 22nd.

Participants talked about topics from recycling to conserving energy.  Students say it is an important lesson for everyone to learn. "If we don't take care of our own Earth, then no one else is. This is the only one we have so that's one chance that we get and that's it" says ASU Freshman Alyssa Goodin.  Around 500 people took part in this event.

    According to Cave City Police Chief Brian Barnett, a juvenile was arrested Saturday on suspicion of terroristic threatening after the student sent a picture.
