BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man accused of starving his brother to death has been recommended to have his sentence commuted.
The Arkansas Board of Parole recommended Monday that Gerald Whitaker's sentence be commuted.
Gerald Whitaker of Blytheville was convicted of manslaughter almost three years ago after his brother Larry was found dead on his porch.
Larry weighed just 80 pounds when investigators found him. Gerald Whitaker claimed he was tired of caring for his brother.
No decision has been made on the recommendation.
