Blues Traveler headlining Portfest

NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) – The 29th Annual Portfest "Rollin' on the River" Festival has announced they have a new headliner for the event.

The band Blues Traveler will replace Joan Jett and the Blackhearts at the annual festival. According to their agent, Jett is currently in Europe shooting for a movie.

The festival is scheduled for June 4th at Jacksonport State Park. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the gate. Kids 6-year-old and under get in free.

Blues Traveler is scheduled to take the stage around 8:30 Friday night.

Portfest is hosted by the Newport Area Chamber of Commerce, and is held on the banks of the White River at beautiful Jacksonport State Park, three miles north of Newport off Hwy. 69.

    The showers continue to fall, pushing this to maybe be the wettest February on record for Jonesboro. As the rain continues, the significantly high water levels are causing problems for roads and highways across the area.
