Two Region 8 police cars rammed in chase; suspect at large

SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Police in Sharp County need your help in finding a man who rammed two police cars during a chase and got away.

According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, police tried pulling over a black Dodge truck for reckless driving, when he fled from police.

During the pursuit, police say Sharp County Sheriff's Deputy Trent Milligan was forced to shoot at the fleeing truck on Good Earth Pottery Road.

Ash Flat Police Officer Dan Fry joined the chase, and had his cruiser rammed by the fleeing man during the pursuit. Police from Cave City, Ash Flat, Evening Shade, and Arkansas State Police all joined the chase throughout the county.

Sometime later on Barnes Road the truck rammed Sharp County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Adams causing minor injured to Deputy Adams, but extensive damage to his cruiser.

The Dodge truck was found abandoned a short distance later in the 500 block of Barnes Road.

Investigators brought out tracking dogs to help find a scent of the suspect, but never found him.

Police have tentatively identified the vehicles owner as well as additional evidence from the scene, and are asking the public to contact the police at 870-994-2211 if they have any information about this chase.
