Jonesboro, AR (KAIT)- Craighead County election officials began preparations for the May primaries. Thursday evening poll workers were trained on the electronic voting machines at the Courthouse Election Center.
Deputy County Clerk Nancy Robbins says "sometimes we have first time voters and they're not really sure what to do and it kind of scares them because they are not used to the machine, so if you have someone there that can help you, then it just goes a little easier".
Robbins adds there are about 20 polling sites located around Craighead County with about 3-4 machines in each one. Early voting begins next Monday, April 3rd. The Primary election will be held Tuesday, May 18th.
