SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Sharp County Deputies arrest 3 people in a Tuesday night chase that left 2 police cars smashed, and police searching for the suspects.
According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, Keith Eaves and Gregory Bates were the two men driving a Dodge truck that fled from police and rammed 2 police cars during the event. The chase ended on Barnes Road after the 2 men ran from their truck and into the woods. Police were never able to find them.
Police received a tip Wednesday that 2 men came out of the forest dirty, and looking like they slept in the woods all night. The caller also said the 2 men matched the description of the 2 men who ran from the truck in that area the night before.
Sharp Count Deputy's responded to the area were they found Keith Eaves and placed him under arrest. During the apprehension, Eaves yelled into the woods, "Run Scottie run." Short while later deputies caught up with Bates and placed him under arrest.
Both men were transported to the sheriff's office where Eaves admitted that Bates was the driver who rammed 2 police cars during the chase.
Police also arrested Joshi Thompson for interfering with governmental operations after police say she helped the two men flee from police after they abandoned their truck.
Both Eaves and Bates were charged with felony fleeing and two counts of aggravated assault.
