Ark. governor: Storm victim resilience impressive

SCOTLAND, Ark. (AP) - A spokesman for Gov. Mike Beebe says disaster declarations are likely in the upcoming days for counties that suffered heavy damage in storms that raked Arkansas over the weekend. Beebe on Sunday visited the Van Buren County community of Scotland, where a tornado damaged homes Friday night, killing one woman and injuring others.

DeCample said the governor was impressed by the resilience of the residents cleaning up in the aftermath of the storm. DeCample said the governor encountered several people who had lost everything, but plan to rebuild right where they were.

The National Weather Service said Sunday it had fully traced the path of two tornadoes that touched down Friday night. At least six tornadoes have been confirmed from that outbreak, the agency said, and two more were reported on Saturday.
