Blytheville police arrest woman in store fire

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Blytheville police say they've arrested a woman after a fire that prompted evacuation of a Wal-Mart store.

According to the Blytheville Police Department, Amber McGee was arrested on an arson charge accusing her of setting fire to the store's arts and crafts section around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the Blytheville fire marshal interviewed McGee on a tip, and she confessed. She was then taken to the police station, where she made a formal statement and was arrested.

Fire and police officials say Wal-Mart suffered almost $100,000 worth of fire, smoke and water damage. No injuries were reported.
