WEST MEMPHIS, AR (AP) - Arkansas highway officials say workers plan to shift traffic on Interstate 40 at West Memphis to newly constructed lanes, beginning Thursday.
I-40 has been undergoing major reconstruction near its intersection with I-55, and that work is nearing its end. The lane shifts will move traffic from old lanes on I-40 to recently finished new lanes.
A news release from the highway agency said the lane shifts will start at 9 a.m. Thursday, and should be completed by the end of the day. The department said motorists should exercise caution as they approach the work area.
