$15 million donation for Alzheimer's center

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis husband and wife are donating $15 million for an Alzheimer's disease research center at Washington University.

Charles Knight was CEO of Emerson Electric for 27 years. Joanne Knight's mother developed Alzheimer's in the 1980s.

Washington University is announcing on Monday that its Alzheimer's research center will be named in honor of the Knights.

The St. Louis-based university says their $15 million donation will be used to support Alzheimer's research and to recruit and retain doctors and scientists.
