Arkansas pitcher placed on Olerud watch list

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas pitcher Brett Eibner has been named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List.

The College Baseball Foundation announced the addition on Monday.

The Olerud Award will recognize a player who makes an impact on the mound and at the plate.

Eibner shares the Southeastern Conference lead with 17 home runs and is fourth in the league with a .703 slugging percentage. On the mound, he has a 3-4 record with a 4.30 ERA and has made a team-high 11 starts. In 52.1 innings of work, he has 47 strikeouts and has issued just nine walks, the second-lowest figure in the conference.
