THE TEAMS: Arkansas State enters the week's action after winning two of three games at home against Florida International last weekend. The Red Wolves opened the series with an 8-7 victory over the Golden Panthers Friday night, before FIU evened the series with a 15-2 victory in Saturday's game. The Red Wolves grabbed the series win with a 5-4 win in the Sunday rubber match. Murray State swept Eastern Kentucky last weekend, winning 8-1, 9-6 and 18-5 at Reagan Field in Murray, Ky. Ole Miss dropped two of three games at home against Arkansas last weekend. The Rebels were defeated 11-4 in Friday's matchup, before bouncing back to edge Arkansas 3-2 in Saturday's game. Arkansas closed out the series with a 7-0 win in Sunday's deciding game.

THE MURRAY STATE SERIES: Murray State leads the all-time series 51-43-1, but the Red Wolves defeated the Thoroughbreds 17-8 when the two teams met March 9 in Murray. The Red Wolves unloaded a season-high five doubles in the game, had a season-high 16 RBIs and the 17 runs scored is tied for the most in any game this season. Senior catcher Kyle DeGrace belted two home runs and drove in five runs to lead the Red Wolves offensively. The two teams split their pair of games during the 2009 season, each winning on their home field. The Thoroughbreds defeated ASU 11-5 March 4 in Murray in the season's first meeting before the Red Wolves turned the tables with a 4-2 victory in Jonesboro May 12.

THE OLE MISS SERIES: The Red Wolves trail 22-72 in the series against the Rebels. Ole Miss has won five consecutive over Arkansas State, including a 3-2 loss March 23, and three victories over the Red Wolves during the 2009 season. In the loss earlier this season, Arkansas State out-hit 17th-ranked Ole Miss 8-4 on a chilly afternoon at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field, but a two-out error in the third inning came back to haunt ASU and the Rebels (3-1) were able to come away with the one-run victory in Oxford. The last Arkansas State victory in the series was a 7-5 victory in Oxford during the 2008 season over the then-No. 2 ranked Rebels.

ON DECK: The Red Wolves return to Sun Belt Conference action this weekend with a three-game series at Troy. The Friday and Saturday games are scheduled for 6:00 p.m., while Sunday's game three will begin at 1:00 p.m.

TOURNAMENT TICKET PUNCHED: With their 2-1 series win over FIU, the Red Wolves improved to 14-10 in Sun Belt Conference action and clinched a berth in the SBC Tournament for the first time since the 2006 season.
