LITTLE ROCK (ASU) - The Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training re-elected Arkansas State University Head Certified Athletic Trainer Ron Carroll as its chairman Wednesday.
The board met Wednesday morning, at which time Carroll was nominated and re-elected as chairman for the 15th consecutive year. Carroll was originally appointed to the board in 1995 by then Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker and was most recently reappointed in 2010 by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe.
"It's quite an honor to be both re-appointed to the board and re-elected as the chairman," said Carroll. "It is so important to provide quality healthcare to the athletes and the physically active in Arkansas."
The Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training is composed of five members appointed by the Governor for terms of three years. Four members are athletic trainers licensed to engage in athletic training in the state of Arkansas. One member is a consumer who is not actively engaged in or retired from the practice of athletic training, medicine, physical therapy, or employment by an athletic department of an accredited educational institution.
