ASU and McGehee Industrial Foundation receive money for exhibit

Jonesboro, AR.-- Arkansas State University will be receiving federal funding.

U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln, Mark Pryor, and U.S. Representatives Marion Berry and Mike Ross announced that the four-year university and the McGehee Industrial Foundation will be given federal funding.  The National Park Service is giving the organizations money to preserve and commemorate two Southeast Arkansas sites where Japanese Americans were detained during World War 2.

ASU will receive $100,502 to develop and install designs and panels while the McGehee Industrial Foundation will receive $419,967 to restore the railroad depot building.

The "Against Their Will" exhibit will display the stories of Japanese Americans who were confined during the war.
