KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - The name of a man killed when his riding mower apparently tipped into a Kansas City creek has been released.
Police identified the man Sunday as 29-year-old Elias Perez of Olathe, Kan.
Officers rushed Friday to the creek and lifted the mower off the pinned man. They performed CPR until firefighter arrived and took over the resuscitation effort. But the man died at a hospital.
Police said Perez was a contract landscape worker for the Kauffman Foundation. The mower went into the creek while he was mowing a grassy hill outside the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Gardens.
