O'Brien, Wilcox in runoff for secretary of state

LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP) - Pulaski County Clerk Pat O'Brien narrowly missed an outright win and is headed to a runoff in the Arkansas secretary of state race.

O'Brien had just under 49% in incomplete returns to 34% that went to Mark Wilcox, the outgoing land commissioner.

The pair topped Sebastian County Clerk Doris Tate, who received 17% of the vote, according to unofficial returns.

The winner of the runoff will face state Rep. Mark Martin, R-Prairie Grove, in the November general election.
