Clinton plans Arkansas campaign stop for Lincoln

LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton is coming back to his home state to help Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln as she fights for her political career in the Democratic primary.

Lincoln told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Clinton will campaign with her on May 28 as she tries to rally support in her runoff battle against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter. Her campaign says the "Countdown to Victory" tour will be in the Little Rock-North Little Rock area.

Clinton remains revered in his home state, where he served 12 years as governor before running for president in 1992. His presidential library is located in downtown Little Rock.

Lincoln faces a June 8 runoff with Halter, a former Clinton administration official, after failing to win the majority of votes in Tuesday's primary.
