SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - The Mid-South Fair will remain at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven through 2015.
Officials for both organizations signed a lease agreement this week.
Fair officials tell The Commercial Appeal that plans to relocate the fair to the 150-acre site in Tunica are on hold because there's no money to make the move.
After leaving Memphis, the fair landed in DeSoto County when officials saw that its chosen Tunica site off U.S. Highway 61 would not be ready to host the event any time soon.
Up to $31 million is needed to construct a midway and other facilities in Tunica.
The fair was held last year at the civic fair, The 2010 edition is scheduled to run from Sept. 24 through Oct. 3.
