4 small earthquakes hit central Arkansas

QUITMAN, AR (AP) - Authorities say several small earthquakes struck in central Arkansas over the weekend.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from Saturday's four quakes, all of which happened in Faulkner County.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first quake had a magnitude-2.0 and happened at 2:41 a.m. about four miles west of Quitman. The second quake occurred about three milies from Quitman at 4:18 a.m. and had a magnitude of 1.7.

The survey reported a third temblor that happened around 7:05 a.m. about three miles west of Quitman. It had a 1.9-magnitude.

About two hours later, a 1.6-magnitude quake occurred about seven miles northeast of Guy.
