Manhunt in Baxter County is over

HENDERSON, AR (KAIT) – The Baxter County Sheriff's Office says the manhunt is officially over.

According to reports, the Arkansas Department of Corrections took the suspect into custody at 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon after he was found in a creek bottom.

The dog team and a helicopter tracked the suspect approximately 1 1/4 mile to the southeast of his original location.

HENDERSON, AR (KAIT) – A manhunt is underway for The Baxter County Sheriff's Office in the Hand Cove area east of Henderson, Arkansas.

Deputy Aaron Brown attempted to make a traffic stop on HWY 62 East when the vehicle sped away. The pursuit led into Fulton county and turned south onto Hand Cove Road.

Deputy Brown witnessed contraband items being thrown from the window throughout the chase. The driver of the vehicle fled on Ruth Road while a female passenger was taken into custody.

Officers in both Baxter and Fulton County are currently searching for the suspect with a Baxter County Sheriff's helicopter in use. The Arkansas Department of Corrections has brought in tracking dogs from Calico Rock, Arkansas.
