BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A convicted Region 8 sex offender has been arrested again on failing to register as a sex offender.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, John Walker was re-arrested on Monday for failing to register as a sex offender.
Police say Walker was arrested on the same charge on July 6, and order to report to the sheriff's department to begin the process of registering. Police says he refused to comply, and was arrested 6 days later.
Walker was convicted in 1995 in Jackson County, Oregon for sexual abuse in the third degree. Police say Walker was having sexual contact with a 15-year-old female.
Walker is in the Baxter County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.
