BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A second man has been arrested after police bust another man with stolen property and operating a meth lab.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, James Hardman and Jimmy Craig are accused of stealing property from 181 Armstrong Trail on Friday July 9.
Police got a tip that the stolen property was located in a metal building at 582 Rocky Ridge Road in the Tracy area. When police arrived they found articles on a trailer outside that matched the description of the stolen property from the week before.
Police entered the building and found Craig inside along with some of the stolen property, and evidence of a "Red P" type of meth lab. Police say Craig had attempted to flush some of the evidence down the toilet.
A short while later police learned that Hardman had been living at the building and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Hardman was arrested by Mountain home Police around 9pm Wednesday night.
Police recovered an unspecified amount of cash, a window air conditioner, clothing, DVD's, arrowheads, and other articles. The DEA was also contacted for cleanup of the meth lab.
Both Craig and Hardman are in the Baxter County Detention Center. Craig is facing a $50,000 bond and Hardman had his bond set at $100,000.
Craig is charged with manufacture of a controlled substance (meth), residential burglary, two counts of theft of property, being a habitual offender, and two counts of failure to appear.
