PARAGOULD, Ark. -- A missing Greene County 5-year-old has been safely recovered in Texas Friday morning.

Greene County Sheriff Dan Langston told K8 News that 26-year-old Walter Berlet "Rico" Mitchell was arrested at 9:25 a.m. Friday at a motel in Houston by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Jewel Mitchell, who was the subject of a Level II Morgan Nick Alert issued May 8, has been placed in the custody of Texas' Childhood Protective Services Division and will be returned to Arkansas tonight, where she will be placed in the custody of state DHS officials.

Also arrested was Walter Mitchell's father, Walter Frank Mitchell. Both men are charged with kidnapping, while the younger Mitchell will also likely face charges of breaking & entering and criminal property damage.

On May 12, Jewel Mitchell's maternal grandmother, Edith Walker, was also arrested for allegedly assisting in the abduction of her granddaughter.
