Buffalo (Buffalo News) - The Buffalo News reports that former ASU defensive end and third-round pick Alex Carrington has signed with the Buffalo Bills.
Carrington is the seventh of the Bills' nine draft picks to join the fold. The Bills picked him 72nd overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. He's 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds and fits the mold of a defensive end in the 3-4 scheme. Carrington's deal is for four years. Based on other deals of third-rounders, it is believed to be worth about $2.6 million overall and will include a bonus of about $870,000.
"It's quite a bit of relief," Carrington said. "I wasn't too worried about the deal getting done. I knew that my agent, Roosevelt Barnes, would do a good a good job. I'm ready to get to hitting now. I'm ready to get the pads on."
Carrington graduated last December with a degree in psychology and had a 3.52 grade-point average. He thinks the adjustment to the NFL went well in spring practices.
