Region 8 man arrested after stabbing and fleeing

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Lawrence County man is behind bars after police say he stabbed a man, assaulted a family member, and then fled from police.

According to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Greg "Pete" Moss was arrested after police say he stabbed Josh McLaughlin, and assaulted his estranged wife.

Police say a 9-1-1 call came into dispatch of a domestic disturbance in a home near Clover Bend. Police say Moss stabbed McLaughlin after he tried to stop him from hurting Moss's estranged wife.

When police arrived, Moss left with his estranged wife. Police say after becoming stranded on a country road, Moss then took her into the woods where he hid from police for almost 3 hours.

Moss was arrested and charged with battery in the second degree, assault of a family member, and fleeing.

McLaughlin was stabbed in the arm and was treated and released.
