Mizzou dismisses LB Tyler Crane

Columbia (Columbia Tribune) - Junior linebacker Tyler Crane has been dismissed from the Missouri football team for undisclosed disciplinary reasons, team spokesman Chad Moller confirmed yesterday. Moller said Crane's dismissal was not related to any legal misconduct.

Crane, a career backup, wasn't expected to be a major factor at linebacker this season after playing with the second and third units during spring practices. In two seasons playing for the Tigers, Crane made six tackles in 22 career games. A native of Allen, Texas, Crane appeared in 11 games at defensive end as a true freshman in 2007 and redshirted in 2008 while making the transition to linebacker. He played in 11 games last year, mostly on special teams.
