Three Men Escape Independence County Jail

BATESVILLE, Ark. -- Independence County authorities are on the lookout for three jail escapees that escaped early Monday morning.

All three men should be considered armed and dangerous.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., three inmates at the county's detention center overpowered a guard and broke free. The three are identified as:

  • 19-year-old Bryan Keith Shankle
  • 19-year-old Bobby W. Woodrum
  • 26-year-old John Henry Figueroa, Jr.

Shankle was being held on capital murder charges for a Fulton County crime. Woodrum is also a murder suspect out of Fulton County.

Figueroa was being held for first degree battery and aggravated robbery.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact the Independence County Sheriff's office at 870-793-8838.
