CAVE CITY, AR (KAIT) – After a joint investigation involving the Sharp County Sheriff's Office and the Drug Task Force of the Third Judicial District, officers obtained a search warrant for a property on 948 Hwy 115 in Cave City.
On July 20, Investigators arrested John Douglas Brown, but not after a brief on-foot pursuit. When Sheriff Weaver and Detective Sergeant Mark Counts arrived at the residence, Brown was standing in his front yard and immediately began running.
Brown finally surrendered after he stopped to throw some items down. All items including approximately 32.5 grams of methamphetamine, assorted pills, and marijuana were recovered.
While recovering the evidence, a small patch of marijuana plants was discovered by Chief Deputy David Huffmaster.
In addition to admission of ownership, officers also found $4,000 at the residence.
Brown was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and possession of a controlled substance. He is currently held in the Sharp County Jail waiting on a bond hearing.
