Officers find meth in Region 8 man's home

EVENING SHADE, AR (KAIT) - A joint task force of the Sharp County Sheriff's Office and Drug Task Force Agents with the Third Judicial District made an arrest on Tuesday.

Elmer James of Evening Shade was arrested on July 20 after an investigation led officers to his home. James does have a previous history of manufacturing and possessing methamphetamine.

When investigators spoke to James, he admitted to having methamphetamine in his home. After a search warrant was obtained and served, 0.8 grams of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia were found in the residence.

James was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held in the Sharp County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
