JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A marijuana eradication programs lands one person in jail and over $24,000 worth of pot off the streets.
According to the Jonesboro Police Department, members of the Jonesboro Police Department, Second Judicial Drug Task Force, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and the Craighead, Clay, Greene, and Mississippi County Sheriff's Offices assisted the Arkansas National Guard from July 19 through 22 conducting a marijuana eradication program covering each of the counties the local agencies serve.
The operation, which included ground and air searches, resulted in approximately 40 marijuana plants seized at an estimated $24,000 street value.
Police say criminal charges are expected against one person for manufacture of a controlled substance.
