Cardinals add Westbrook to roster

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Jake Westbrook is hoping for another postseason appearance, this time with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Westbrook was acquired from Cleveland in a three-team deal on Saturday. The Indians are mired in last place in the AL Central, so the right-hander says he's excited to be involved in a pennant race with the contending Cardinals.

Westbrook, who will wear No. 35, was added to St. Louis' roster on Sunday and will start Monday against Houston. Infielder Tyler Greene was placed on the 15-day disabled list to make room on the roster.

A 2004 All-Star, the 32-year-old Westbrook is 6-7 with a 4.65 ERA in 21 starts this year. He is 69-71 overall in 10 major league seasons.
