ASH FLAT, AR (KAIT) – An Arkansas woman is behind bars after police find marijuana growing in her backyard.

According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, on Tuesday a tip came into the police department saying Christine Jurczyk was growing marijuana in her backyard at 122 Diana Avenue in Ash Flat.

When police search the property they found 14 marijuana plants growing in her backyard, and a large sum of cash was also seized.

Sheriff Dale Weaver said the plants were maturely grown, and in a 2009 eradication raid Jurczyk's place was considered a place of interest. They flew over her home and found suspected marijuana plants, but said he had no officers to respond. Sheriff Weaver went to Jurczyk's home after landing the helicopter, but said all he found was disturbed dirt where the suspected plants had been seen.

Jurczyk is charged with manufacture of a controlled substance (marijuana), possession with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers from the Ash Flat Police Department, Agents from the Third Judicial District Drug task force, and Sharp county Deputies all assisted in the arrest.
