Search warrant leads to drugs and suspect being tasered by JPD

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A search warrant leads to drugs, and one suspect being tasered by the police.

The incident happened at 701 Melrose Street in Jonesboro.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, officers were serving a search warrant at the home of Waymon Woods for drugs, when Woods escaped through a back window. Woods then broke into a nearby apartment where police found, and tasered him.

Police discovered approximately 3 oz. of marijuana, digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia in Woods' home.

Another man, Jerome Casey was also arrested in the incident.

Woods is being charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, and fleeing. Judge Keith Blackman set his bond at $5,000.

Casey is charged with a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $625.
