JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-A local library is making it's information even easier to get!
The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is launching a new mobile website!!
Alissa Reynolds, Virtual Manager of the Jonesboro Public Library, "It's just another one of our virtual library initiatives that we're trying to do. Taking down the walls of the library so that you're able to do things from your home. You don't actually have to come into the library to do these things, but you have everything at your fingertips. So, you can do it from your home, on the road. If your sitting in an office meeting and needing some information and if you're a school student and need some research information, it can be done from wherever you are."
Reynolds says they are very excited about being able to provide this type of convenience to the public, "Basically your library anywhere you are. And you can find out almost anything you need to know! Now you have access to our library, to our databases for research, you can find out where our branches are, their times, their locations. A ton of different things you can do all from your mobile phone so it will be basically available twenty-four seven that you can have access to."
The address for this site will be m.libraryinjonesboro.org and will be available to access on any smart phone.
The official launch date of this new service is August 6th and Reynolds says their trying to help get everyone "online" with the information they need to access the site as quickly as possible.
"Tomorrow we are doing a staff and local librarian development day. County librarians from public schools from Poinsett and Craighead County will be at the library to learn more about the databases and how their students will be able to benefit from those. As well as all the other services that we offer that they can provide to their students via the internet or mobile phone devices."
For more information about this service or any others the library has to offer, log onto their website.
