Cache River Valley Seed holds annual "Field Day"

CASH, AR (KAIT) - Region 8 farmers left their fields today to do a little research at the 22nd annual Cache River Valley Seed "Field Day".

Around 300 farmers toured their fields and visited with vendors to see what options are available to them. Representatives from Horizon Ag, Monsanto, Sygenta Seeds, Bayer CropScience, Halo and other sponsors were on hand to answer questions about their products and services.

Information on the latest seed innovations, new technologies and expert advice were also shared at the event.

Scholarship recipients were also honored at the event. Randy Dempsey, a junior plant science major from Augusta and Bryan Elder, a senior plant science major from Jonesboro received the 2010-2011 Joe E. McAlister Scholarship.

This event is recognized as the biggest Rice and Soybean Field Day in the state.
