Jonesboro (ASU) – A large number of players on the Arkansas State football team and head coach Steve Roberts made some extra time Wednesday to visit local businesses and thank them for their support, departing the ASU Football Facility early this morning to deliver orange juice, donuts and gift bags as part of the community service project.
The Red Wolves divided into groups and set out looking forward to the opportunity to show their appreciation for all the ways area businesses have backed the program. Visibility in the community and community service projects remain a priority for the Red Wolves, who have made this morning's events one of their many annual ways to give back to the surrounding area.
"Due to the great support we receive on a yearly basis from so many local businesses, we've made this promotion and community service project an annual event," said ASU Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing Gleen Hart. "This is an event the members of our football team really enjoy and look forward to each year, and it's another way for us to give back to the community for its tremendous support."
Different businesses are selected each year, and those chosen to visit Wednesday were Central Dealerships, Dental Solutions, Clopton Clinic, Simmons First Bank, HealthSouth, Liberty Bank, Regions Bank, St. Bernards, Southern Home Health Care and Suddenlink.
