JEFFERSON CITY, MO (AP) - Missouri education leaders are working to develop a plan for the future of public education in the state.

School board members and administrators from across the state were to meet Monday in Jefferson City to examine the current education system and develop suggested changes.

Officials hope the work will lead to a plan for necessary changes within public education.

State Education Commissioner Chris Nicastro was scheduled to speak at the first meeting Monday.
