JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The "Simmons First Border Bowl" was an interesting tilt at ASU Stadium.
Jonesboro and Greene County Tech entered Tuesday's matchup with high powered offenses, but the defense did some talking of its own. Scoreless after the first quarter, GCT got on the board with a 20 yard Clayton Davis TD run.
After the Golden Hurricane failed to convert a fake punt, Davis found Wesley Copeland for a 43 yard touchdown reception. The failed PAT gave GCT a 13-0 lead.
Jonesboro rallied for 24 unanswered points. They held off a late Golden Eagle rally to win the Border Bowl 24-19.
The Golden Hurricane host Conway next Friday, while GCT will travel to Hoxie.
