New Orleans (SBC) - Arkansas State goalkeeper Susan Brown picked up the second Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week award for the 2010 season, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Brown, who hails from Calgary, Alberta, led the Red Wolves to their first two wins of the season shutting out both Arkansas Pine Bluff and Louisiana Tech. Brown faced nine shots on goal and allowed none.
On the season Brown has made 12 saves and has yet to allow a single goal. She owns two shutouts this season which is already have of her record breaking total from last season.
Other outstanding performances were had this past week including North Texas' Kelsey Hodges who notched her second career hat trick on Friday. She now has two hat tricks in three games and becoming the second fastest freshman in North Texas school history to accomplish the feat.
North Texas remains unbeaten with only one goal scored against. The 4-0 start for the Mean Green is the first 4-0 start for the North Texas program in its history.
South Alabama's Kristyn Thacker scored two goals and had an assist in the Jaguars home opener against Alabama State.
