Jonesboro (ASU) – The Arkansas State cross country team opens action for their 2010 competition season Friday night at the Arkansas Tech Twilight meet in Russellville, Ark.
The Arkansas State cross country team returns all five of their top runners on the women's side including Samantha Salinas, Chelsea Weaver, Reilly McAtee, Dawn L'Heureux and Sydney Foreman.
ASU also gets back top performers and upperclassmen Mary Krug and Erica Naeger who will bolster the team and provide leadership. The Red Wolves add four freshmen on the women's side, most notably Kristina Aubert, a top runner from Illinois who is expected to cause some waves in the Sun Belt.
On the men's side, ASU gets senior leadership back in the form of Derell and Terell Pigram and Bailey Bunyan. Bunyan was hampered by injuries last season and now healthy should add some spark to the Red Wolves.
ASU also gets back David Mills and Briar Becton a pair of sophomores who will help bolster their roster and add depth. The men will also get depth from juniors James Ngwiri and Robert Lanier.
Action at the Tech Twilight meet is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night.
