FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino says he's pleased by what his team accomplished in the last week of workouts before Saturday's season opener.
Petrino said after Thursday's practice that the players' execution and energy were both good in the workout.
Arkansas opens its season at home Saturday against Tennessee Tech.
Coach Petrino said the competition for playing time was intense this week. He said he was particularly impressed with his running backs, "who don't get as many reps between them in practice."
But he said they were all good at sharing what they had learned and cheering for each other.
