Three arrested at home in Region 8

POUGHKEEPSIE, AR (KAIT) -  On Wednesday, three Region 8 residents were arrested on multiple charges  after Sharp County officers execute a search warrant.

According to a press release from Sharp County Sheriff Dale Weaver, Don Mathias, 51, Allison Mathias, 51, and David Bates, 27, all of Poughkeepsie were arrested at the Mathias residence.

The investigating officers found a laptop recently reported stolen from a local business, a quantity of Methamphetamine and Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and firearms says the press release.

Don, Allison, and Bates are being held in the Sharp County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

Both Don and Allison are facing charges for possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to use, theft by receiving, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Don Mathias also faces charges of being a felon in possession of firearms.

Bates faces charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to use.

Agencies assisting in the arrests are officers with the Sharp County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas State Police, and the 3rd Judicial District Drug Task Force.
