"I'm glad that we are 3-0-1 and we have won our first home game. I am most excited because we are starting to gel together. We are still not where we want to be but I saw an improvement today from what we did two days ago.," said ASU head coach Tafadzwa Ziyenge.
"It is really nice to see players like Lizzy Niles step up and take a leadership role. She has been doing really tremendous, but she isn't the only one. Like I keep saying there is no star player on our team. But the people we step up and ask to play like veterans they have all done it like Stasha Siers our captain. I could go on naming so many people. We are starting to come together and our goal is to try to get a winning season and whatever it takes is what we are going to do."
Sophomore goalkeeper Susan Brown turned in her third shutout of the season. It marked the seventh overall in her career and moved Brown into sole possession of the number one spot on the all-time career shutout chart.
The Red Wolves continue action on Sunday with a trip to Nashville, Tenn. to meet up with Belmont. Action Sunday is set to kick off at 2 p.m.
