IMBODEN, AR (KAIT) – Two Imboden men are arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation on Sunday.

Lawrence County Sheriff's Department Captain Jody Dotson says Eddie Lester, 24, and Chris Broadway, 26, were arrested by Trooper Roark after he had stopped them for not wearing their seat belts.  Dotson says while speaking with the two men, Roark noticed a heavy chemical smell in the vehicle.

According to a press release from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Roark found a black duffel bag in the back of the vehicle. When asked about the bag, the two men said there was a meth lab inside of it.

Certified officers from the Sheriff's Department processed the lab for evidence.

Lester and Broadway were arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail await a bond hearing.

The press release says items found in the bag include the following: camp fuel, pseudo ephedrine pills, lithium batteries, plastic tubing, drain cleaner and reaction vessels.
