FRANKLIN, AR (KAIT) - On Friday, an accident on County Road 66 in Franklin ends with one man getting arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving.

The Izard County Sheriff's Department press release says Geoffrey L. Erwin, 43, of Calico Rock fled the scene of the accident on foot and was later arrested by Chief Deputy Ernie Blackley.

The Ford pickup Erwin was driving had overturned throwing one passenger in the bed of the truck approximately 23 feet from the accident. A passenger in the cab was pinned beneath the pickup.

Erwin faces charges of driving while intoxicated, failure to report an accident, criminal impersonation, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and other traffic violations. The press release says this will be Erwin's second offense if formally charged with driving while intoxicated.

Erwin was released from Izard County Detention Facility on Sunday after posting $10,000 bond.
