STEELE, MO (KAIT) - After allegedly threatening to stab a man, a beating victim may face assault charges.
On Saturday night, The Steele Police Department says officers found an unresponsive 23-year-old with injuries to his face and head. Witnesses at the scene said the man had been beaten by a 25-year-old man after threatening to stab him.
Steele Police say the second man involved was later found and admitted to striking the 23-year-old man, but that the action was merely for self defense since the victim had threatened him at knife-point.
After the being flown to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, the victim is listed in non-critical condition. Steele Police add that a report will be sent to the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney for review for possible felony assault charges.
