JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Many businesses both large and small are using the Internet to get their advertising to potential customers.

10 years ago a website was not really much more than just a billboard with some pictures and a phone number. Now with website's becoming more interactive and having vast quantities of information it is important for new small businesses to understand the correct way of using their web sites.

Tuesday marked the first time that a new seminar entitled "Website Strategy and Planning" was held at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development. Herb Lawrence the director for the center says this seminar is not designed to teach business owners to design web sites.

"But rather to help them understand terminology and jargon. To know the right questions to ask their web developers or potential web developers so they are comfortable with it and getting the most out of their web design."

There were about a dozen attendees to this inaugural session.
